About the event

**OPEN TO STUDENTS OF ALL GENDERS AND BACKGROUNDS**

Are you a Science, Engineering, or IT student interested in building your career? Chances are communication skills will be critical to getting your first internship or next job. So… why does no one ever talk about it?

In this unique event, staff and students are collaborating to help you re-think and speak about the lessons you've learnt from your STEM degree that are easily transferable to your career.

Event Schedule:

5:15pm - Workshop (Employability Skills)

6:15pm - Panel

7:15pm - Networking and Food

Come along to a workshop delivered by a science communication professional to practise and gain feedback about how well you communicate your skills, passion, and knowledge from your STEM degree.

Our panellists from Science and Engineering backgrounds have used their communication skills to forge careers in a diverse range of industries – from consulting and public policy, to museum exhibitions and even stand-up comedy. Learn from the experience and expertise of our diverse panellists as they discuss the value of communication skills in their industries, pursuing different paths from their STEM degrees, and how they navigate employment in their field.

Open to students of all genders and backgrounds. REGISTRATIONS ESSENTIAL. Head over to the link below to register for this free event: https://careersonline.unimelb.edu.au/students/events/detail/1184360
